Professional Cabinet Painting in Tampa
Mark’s Painting - Residential and Commercial Cabinet Painter
Maintenance is essential to extend the lifespan of cabinets. They shouldn't be exposed to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. However, even with proper care, the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry cabinets will lose their original luster one day. That's when a fresh coat of paint is necessary.
While there may not be one right way to paint the cabinets, there are many wrong ways. It can be a challenging DIY project for any homeowner, from choosing the paint to applying the last coat. It's a job best reserved for professionals who can give kitchen cabinet painting the attention to detail it deserves.
At Mark's Painting, our kitchen cabinet painters have the knowledge, skills, and experience to achieve the perfect outcome. Painting products come and go, and it's our job to stay on top of all the innovations. We want to help our clients choose the most outstanding possible solution for their kitchen cabinet painting.
There are a host of benefits to painting kitchen cabinets. The options are limitless, so clients can transform the kitchen, bathroom, and garage to match their unique style. Rather than replacing structurally sound cabinets, painting them is an environmentally friendly and sustainable approach.
Painting kitchen cabinets is also far more cost-effective. A professional kitchen cabinet spraying and refinishing crew, such as the one at Mark's Painting, can save clients time and money and deliver superb results that rival brand-new cabinets.
Our services include:
Cabinet removal and installation
Whether you're moving to a new home or want to replace old cabinetry, Mark's Painting is the company to call. If the kitchen cabinets have water damage or mold growth, it's time to replace them. It's our privilege to be called on for new cabinet installation, which we have the expertise to carry out for any living space.
Cabinet restoration and repair
If the cabinets have broken hinges or peeling veneer or laminate, Mark's Painting can get the cabinets looking new without actually replacing them. Even for those who thought their cabinets were too far gone, we've successfully given them a new lease on life without fail. We are exceptionally skilled in restoring old kitchen cabinets with unique monetary or sentimental value to the family.
Cabinet painting
With minimal disruption to everyday life, we can paint the kitchen cabinets and make them look flawless. Cabinet painting is an excellent choice when the kitchen or bathroom layout is ideal. Instead of incurring the fuss and expense of new cabinet installation, cabinet painting can impart a fresh look to the entire space.
Cabinet refinishing
Home improvement projects do not have to be complicated—especially when a homeowner simply wishes to restore the original charm by refinishing the kitchen cabinets. Our kitchen cabinet refinishing includes cleaning and degreasing the wood thoroughly. We then repair any damaged areas and either sand the cabinets by hand or chemically remove the existing finish, as appropriate. Homeowners have many options for the finished (or rather, refinished) color and quality, for which we'd be more than happy to provide recommendations and collaborate.
Cabinet hardware installation
It's often the cabinet hardware that goes out of service first. When it's time to install new cabinet handles and knobs, contact Mark's Painting and inquire about our swift and professional services. We know from experience that a slight change in the kitchen or laundry room can make all the difference.
Our Cabinet Painting Process
Cleaning, sanding, and patching
Our cabinet painting projects start with removing all the hardware and cabinet doors. We label all the screws and hardware and put them away for safekeeping.
We then move on to cleaning the cabinet surfaces. If the existing paint is in relatively good shape, we use a bleach and trisodium phosphate (TSP) solution to prepare the wood for painting. The mixture thoroughly removes all glossiness and grease, leaving the cabinets completely clean and bare.
To enhance the life and finish of the paint, we sand the surfaces and edges prior to painting. Our default tools for this step are 180-grit sandpaper for removing all flaking and chipped paint and a sponge for all the dust. At this point, we also inspect the cabinets for signs of softened wood that may indicate rot.
The mere presence of wood rot does not necessarily halt this process, as minor amounts can be safely scraped off and removed, though the more affected panels might need replacing. Before proceeding further, we apply fungicides and preservatives that should add years to the lifespan of the cabinets.
This stage ends with patching holes, if any. Homeowners can rest assured that we have just the right products for whatever type of cabinets they have.
Dent repair
We at Mark's Painting have all the tools and expertise to repair just about any dents; our goal is to make them look like they never existed.
We use oil-based fillers and epoxies to match the color of the cabinets. We are highly proficient at smoothing out dents and filling any gaps that are present.
Scratch repair
Whenever possible, we tackle scratches through the use of extra-fine wool pads. We also have more sophisticated tools in waiting for more severe marks.
For deep scratches, we have a range of suitable filler materials that can be mixed to match the finish of the cabinets. We also look for wax buildups in the scratched areas and remove them if necessary. When we are done, the cabinets look as if they were never damaged in the first place.
Priming
The final step in the prep work is priming the wood. The primer determines how easy it is to apply the paint and the quality of the final result.
Recognizing that every cabinet painting project is potentially unique, we do not go into any project with a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, our priming effort is customized to the cabinets for optimal stain prevention and topcoat adhesion.
Spray painting
The two primary methods of cabinet painting are brush painting and spray painting. Mark's Painting favors spray painting for the best results. Our professional kitchen cabinet spraying and refinishing process is much faster, owing to spray painting's ability to cover more of the area in each application. Our customers appreciate that perfectly smooth coverage that's nearly impossible to achieve with brush painting.
Our professional sprayer can reach anywhere that needs painting, including the most challenging uneven surfaces, so we rarely need to do any touch-ups or sanding afterward.
At the end of the job, you can be the proud owner of cabinets that look indistinguishable from factory new or better. Beyond kitchen cabinets, spray painting works on any surface, even acrylic facing and laminate.
Home improvement projects can be incredibly personal to the homeowner. A cabinet painting company that's willing to put in the work to understand the customer's wishes and ideas and execute them flawlessly can be of great help.
If you're in the Tampa area, call Mark's Painting, and we can go over your kitchen cabinet painting or refinishing plans together. It is our pleasure to help clients realize their vision.
Our 25 years of experience speaks for itself, and we continue to take great pride in the superior quality of our work and customer service.
